What is Ultraviolet Radiations ?
UV comes from the visible light spectrum with the measurement of wavelength 100nm to 400nm, categorized into 3 classification:
UVA (315 – 400nm) – UVA rays penetrate deep into the dermis, accounts for 95% of the UV radiation that reaches the earth’s surface and the skin's thickest layer. Unprotected exposure can lead to premature skin aging ,wrinkling and suppression of the immune system.
UVB (280 – 315nm) – UVB rays will usually burn the superficial layers of your skin. It plays a key role in the development of skin cancer.Most solar UVB is filtered by the atmosphere. It plays a contributory role in tanning and photo aging . It increases the production of certain cells in the skin which may lead to skin aging and significantly promotes the development of skin cancer.
